The annual event is hosted by Stan Lee and Elvira, Mistrress of the Dark. This growing con is known as a quickly-growing geek and pop-culture events.
In addition to panels and signings, it features an exhibition area with comics, books, art, toys and other unique merchandise. Vanta M. Black, courtesy of Black Chateau Enterprises, will be there to greet fans and sign copies of her book, Oubliette—A Forgotten Little Place.

In keeping with the Halloween spirit, on Thursday, October 13, at 7 P.M., Flintridge Bookstore & Coffeehouse presents a panel discussion, THE DARK UNIVERSE, featuring four Los Angeles area horror authors.
The event is moderated by Vanta M. Black, author of Oubliette—A Forgotten Little Place. She is joined by novelist and screenwriter Brad C. Hodson; screenwriter and Halloween expert Lisa Morton; and actor, theater professor and comedian Kevin Wetmore. They share insights about their books and discuss horror/science fiction writing genres – with a Halloween twist to celebrate the season.

The First High Desert Book Festival
Vanta M. Black and her book Oubliette—A Forgotten Little Place is part of the first High Desert Book Fest, which is part of the annual Victorville Fall Festival.
The festival includes lectures and book signings by guest authors. Booths with information on writing and publishing, plus speakers presentations.
Black will be there signing hard and paperback copies of her book during the one-day festival, which is free to attend.
